Wes began his journey as a Christian as a freshman in high school. Hearing the Gospel shared through his high school coaches led him to the realization that something was missing from his life. In searching for that missing peace he realized it was his need for a Savior. Jesus became his Lord and Savior in 1984.

Wes has spent most of his 29 year education career in leadership positions. In twenty-two years on a high school campus Wes served as a Teacher, Head Basketball Coach, Athletics Director, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal. The past seven years he has been the Superintendent of Schools in West Baton Rouge Parish in Louisiana. Wes has been an officer of the Louisiana Association of School Superintendents since 2018, serving as President in 2020-2021. He is a John Maxwell certified Speaker, has served on several educational advisory boards, and was selected as the 2022 Louisiana State Superintendent of the Year. His ultimate goal is to use his platform in the realm of education to share the Gospel and let others see Jesus in him. “People should see the love of Jesus in every interaction we have.”

Jeff was raised to believe in God and attended church throughout childhood. His faith was strengthened while attending a mission trip to Mexico when he was 15 years old. Although straying for a while in high school, Jeff began passionately serving in the ministry while in college. He and his wife, Bridget, were married right out of high school, have been married for 26 years and have 6 awesome kids!

Jeff has been a high school science teacher, middle school special education teacher, and a math teacher while also coaching basketball, football, and track. He has served as an assistant principal, principal, Director of Middle Schools and Magnet Programs, and Chief Academic Officer. Jeff has been the Superintendent of Rapides Parish Public Schools for two and half years and is the 2021-2022 Region 6 Superintendent of the Year. He has served as the President of the Louisiana Superintendents Academy which strives to prepare candidates for their future role as superintendent. Jeff believes that we are called to be and to make disciples “as we go” through whatever God calls us to do in this life.
